All technique classes are an opportunity for Company/Broadway students to come together, working on skills applicable to both season's titles. Students broaden their abilities and are more prepared to meet future challenges on top of present ones.
Students in Acting IV are mastering projection, enunciation, accents and voice manipulation. They use their bodies to heighten performances towards their zenith. They build a large ‘bag of tricks’ which they can pull use to impress future directors and audiences. This bag of tricks are elements they are particularly good at. Like gymnasts, they are able to execute all elements, but also know which of those elements they particularly adept at and really sell their talents to audiences.
Rapunzel, a musical adaptation based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, is no love story. It’s a tale of friendship and family. It starts with a girl, traded at birth, and locked away in a tower. Her hair was so long it was the perfect place for the witch to hide her magic. Rapunzel didn’t know she was a princess until a group of thieves entered her tower and the Witch’s scheme was foiled. Wonderful characters make up this ensemble cast such as the royal family, Rapunzel’s woodland friends, and a band of hilarious thieves who aren’t very skilled at being criminals.
